Ron Loeppke

Ron Loeppke, MD, MPH, FACOEM, FACPM is currently a Fellow and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Systems Science at the Frist College of Medicine at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. He is also Vice Chairman Emeritus of U.S. Preventive Medicine (USPM). USPM provides primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention and Population Health Management (wellness, health coaching and disease management) services for all size employers, health plans and government entities.


Dr. Loeppke has over 35 years of clinical and physician executive experience in the Preventive Medicine, Medical Management, Disease Management, Population Health Management and Corporate Health arenas. He has authored more than 50 articles and book chapters relating to health services research in preventive medicine, occupational health, workplace wellness, population health and the business value of health.


Dr. Loeppke has provided testimony and numerous presentations to Presidential Task Forces at the White House and Congressional committees on Capitol Hill—and was nominated by the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) as a candidate for U.S. Surgeon General. He is also currently an advisor to the World Health Organization (WHO) Health and the World of Work initiative. He was also Chairman of the CDC Diabetes at Work group as part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP).


Dr. Loeppke provided the keynote presentation for the first Workplace Wellness conference in Tokyo, Japan sponsored by the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry. He has also provided several keynote presentations for leading U.S. based healthcare and business conferences including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Workplace Wellness and CDC annual conferences in Washington D.C.


He is Board Certified in General Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Fellowship trained in Occupational Medicine and is a Fellow of both the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine


(ACOEM) and the American College of Preventive Medicine, (ACPM). Dr. Loeppke is past President of ACOEM, was a member of the Board of Directors of ACOEM for eight years. He is also on the Population Health Management Journal Editorial Board and was Co Founder and continues to be the Co-Chair of the International Occupational Medical Society Collaborative (IOMSC)--a global initiative involving over 40 countries.
